ICE 3 Studio Exercise #2

A bad design is the retro theater. This is a bad design because it is very hard to read and understand what is going on. There is also no navigation, which makes it difficult to navigate to the other designs.

A good design is the Kyoto Forest. This is a good design because it's a simple design. The information is easily found by the user. I also like this design because it has left side navigation. I have a habit of looking to the left side for the navigation bar instead of the right.

My name is Stephanie Davis and my partner was Roman.

In-Class Exercise 2

Today in class we worked on our home.html pages. The css layouts helped make this task fun and easy. I enjoyed working on this in class exercise. Firefox and Internet explorer make my webpage look different. In firefox my left column has white circle bullets, however, in Internet explorer there are no bullets at all on my left column. My home page is:

In-Class Exercise 1 Part 2

Today in class I learned a few new things in css. I learned that I can make classes to put information in to use throughout the webpage. We can make classes by defining them in the style sheet with a . followed by the name of the class. We are then allowed to use the classes in webpages by it's name. I also learned that you can divide the webpage into parts by using the # followed by the name. We can only use each division once in a webpage. I have completed my xhtmlrecipe webpage. The link is:

In-Class Exercise 1

I started the in-class exercise by downloading and installing textpad in order to do my html work. I liked using textpad better than dreamweaver. This exercise helped reunite me with html and xhtml since it's been awhile since I have used html. In order to help me I used the website http://www.w3schools.com/html/, which was very useful.
